Clean Energy Spotlight: Joy E. Seitz

This week’s #cleanenergyspotlight is an entrepreneur and “visionary” reinventing the roofing and solar industry. Meet Joy Seitz, chief executive officer and owner of Arizona-based American Solar and Roofing.

Founded in 2001 as the first solar installer in Arizona, American Solar and Roofing specializes in “providing sustainable solar installation to its customers and is currently Arizona's only local licensed solar and roofing installer.”

At American Solar and Roofing, Seitz initially served as vice president of policy development after leaving her lobbying position. She worked her way up to becoming CEO of the company in 2014. Before entering the arena of sustainability, she worked across various sectors including nonprofits, healthcare, and governmental relations.

Leveraging her national policy work and energy expertise, Seitz understands that continued investment in clean energy “is the right thing to do. Connecting clean energy to health and the wellbeing of our community is critical and congress needs to support this in funding and conversations.”

For Seitz, advancing our clean energy is a collaborative effort: “I rely on my employees and customers to be advocates for the bigger mission. Without their voices, large battles can't be won,” she told the Faces Of Clean Energy program.

Congratulations, Joy, and thank you for your being a driving force, accelerating our clean energy transition.
