Clean Energy for America Statement on COP28 Clean Energy Agreement
(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the leaders at the U.N. COP28 climate summit announced an international agreement that reportedly calls on nations to triple the amount of renewable energy by 2030, in a big win for clean energy sources like wind and solar. In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:
“This agreement is a historic declaration that clean energy is the future.
“Thanks to President Biden’s landmark Inflation Reduction Act and its unprecedented investments in domestic clean energy manufacturing, production, and distribution, the United States is well-positioned to be a global leader in this sector, which means more jobs, factories and consumer savings here at home. Clean Energy for America’s member companies are already building up to deliver on this opportunity.
“We applaud this historic international achievement and look forward to working with stakeholders and decision-makers to help see these ambitious goals through to enactment.”
