STATEMENT: CE4A Calls for Nomination Hearing for FERC Chairman Richard Glick
(Washington, D.C.) – Last week, Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chair Joe Manchin (D-WV) declined to schedule a reconfirmation hearing for Richard Glick, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). In response, Clean Energy for America’s (CE4A) Executive Director Andrew Reagan made the following statement:
“With historic investments in clean energy development included in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and in the Inflation Reduction Act, having steady leadership in place at key agencies will be critical to the success of implementing these laws. We implore the U.S. Senate to advance the renomination of Richard Glick as chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
“Senator Manchin had a significant leadership role in securing the historic clean energy investments included in both the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. We ask that he work to ensure that implementation of those investments is a success and that he schedules a hearing at the soonest possible date so that the Senate can vote to confirm Chairman Glick before the end of the 117th Congress."
