STATEMENT: CE4A’s Andrew Reagan on House Vote to Defund Another 30,000 Clean Energy Jobs with Solar Waiver CRA

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives, led by Speaker Kevin McCarthy, voted to repeal the president’s solar tariff waiver with a Congressional Review Act resolution. In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:

“Today’s vote would cause 30,000 solar workers in America to lose their jobs. Again and again, Speaker McCarthy has made time for measures that defund American jobs, like his debt default bill from earlier this week. That went after the Inflation Reduction Act, which has already created 142,000 jobs. For members of both parties, the needs of workers should be paramount, but this week, thousands of clean energy jobs have been targeted, and that is unacceptable. For the sake of America’s communities and economy, people’s paychecks need to be protected, and yet this vote puts them under attack.”
