Clean Energy Leaders Celebrate “Record-Setting” Infrastructure Week Thanks to Historic Investments

WASHINGTON, DC – This week, the White House and the Biden administration are celebrating Infrastructure Week at a time of record-setting, new clean energy construction and manufacturing following the United States’s historic infrastructure investments from the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

In response, the following clean energy leaders provided statements about ways their companies’ are harnessing investments to build projects that benefit communities across America:

  • EVgo (Los Angeles, CA), Sara Rafalson, EVP - External Affairs & Policy: “EVgo is proud to have deployed the nation’s first and third fast charging stations funded by the IIJA’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program in Ohio and Pennsylvania, respectively. Electric vehicle adoption is poised to skyrocket thanks to complementary policies from the Biden administration and Congress that pair charging infrastructure incentives with critical tax provisions to spur vehicle sales. We will continue to work with our partners to scale the EVgo network and help the administration meet its goal of 500,000 EV chargers by 2030.”

  • Spring Free EV (Saratoga Springs, New York), Sunil Paul, CEO:  “Spring Free EV helps small and medium-sized businesses scale their fleets with electric vehicles. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act and its EV tax credits, we can offer a lease tailored to the needs of high-mileage fleets, which are gasoline ‘super users’ meaning their gas vehicles emit far more greenhouse pollution than average. Unlike traditional automotive finance, we offer EV-only leases with no down payment, no mileage caps, and fast decision-making. Additional details at https://springfreeev.com

  • Shifted Energy (Honolulu, HI), Forest Frizzell, Co-founder & CEO: “Shifted Energy is building a clean energy future that works for everyone. We use software and machine learning to make electrified homes more flexible, allowing us to optimize energy assets for grid services and provide money-saving maintenance insights in our virtual power plant platform. With the help of IRA funding, we have been deploying clean energy solutions in Native Hawaiian communities, building trust and lowering electric bills in our most historically overlooked communities.”

  • Molg (Sterling, VA), Rob Lawson-Shanks, Cofounder & CEO: “At Molg, we are enabling circular manufacturing through advanced robotics and computational design, ensuring one product’s end is another’s new beginning. The support from the Inflation Reduction Act has been instrumental, allowing us to accelerate the deployment of our Microfactory technologies at a crucial pace. This enables us to keep critical minerals within U.S. supply chains, supporting the vital transition to electrification and a more circular economy. We are proud that our work, supported by the IRA, not only drives innovation in these important sustainable technologies but also fosters workforce development in disadvantaged communities, equipping them with advanced manufacturing skills essential for the future.”

  • FLO (Auburn Hills, MI.), Travis Allan, FLO Chief Legal and Public Affairs Officer “FLO is a leading North American electric vehicle (EV) charging network operator and a smart charging solutions provider dedicated to helping overcome climate change and accelerate EV adoption through a network of highly reliable charging stations. FLO's new Michigan facility is bringing NEVI-eligible FLO UltraTM DC fast charging stations to U.S. customers receiving IRA funding. With the support of the Inflation Reduction Act, FLO has been able to increase our work to bring critical EV charging infrastructure that both saves drivers money and  increases air quality.”

  • CleanFiber (Buffalo, NY), Jonathan Strimling, CEO: “CleanFiber makes high-performance building insulation from recycled corrugated cardboard. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is helping America take a big step forward in better insulating homes, by allocating $3.5 billion to state Weatherization Assistance Programs. These programs save homeowners money, they create local jobs in production and weatherization, they are reducing our use of imported fuels, and they are reducing our carbon emissions.”
