Clean Energy for America’s Statement on Recent Biden Administration Moves to Improve Permitting, Grow America’s Clean Energy Grid

Today, President Biden’s White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) finalized a rule to reform, simplify, and modernize the federal environmental review process under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This follows last week’s announcement by the Department of Energy, finalizing another permitting rule and advancing hundreds of millions for new grid capacity.

In response to these recent actions, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:

“We applaud the administration for advancing these vital improvements to America’s grid and the permitting process to grow it. We cannot meet our clean energy goals if we do not modernize our energy grid, and these steps are a vital part of the process. They show the Biden administration’s commitment to achieving America’s clean energy goals can also prioritize conservation and local needs. We look forward to working with the Biden administration on the smooth implementation of these actions.”
