Clean Energy for America Statement on the EPA’s Power Plant Standards Strengthening America’s Grid

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released new standards to slash toxic pollution coming from U.S. power plants. In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:

“These standards are a win for America’s families and workers. They’ll support made-in-America clean energy, lowering pollution and consumer energy costs while strengthening the workforce and electrical grid.

“With new clean energy power generation, encouraged by the EPA’s new standards, America’s grid will become exponentially more resilient. And our nation will become less reliant on foreign oil dictators.

“Some fossil fuel groups may criticize these standards, but the facts are the facts: Clean energy makes our grid stronger. And today’s rules are another example of how President Biden’s administration is championing America’s workers and families.”
