WORKER SPOTLIGHT (via CE4AEF’s #FacesofCleanEnergy)
Texas’s Leslie Maldonando is a completions engineer at Fervo Energy, where she supports engineering and supply chain management for the company’s geothermal well work.
Leslie began her career as a drilling engineer in the oil and gas industry, but she pivoted. “Clean energy is the opportunity to improve our energy status-quo,” she said via CE4AEF’s Faces of Clean Energy.
“The ability to implement oil and gas industry practices to the geothermal industry is an innovation that will increase the accessibility and resources available,” she said.
“[This] is an investment I want to continue making for the wellbeing of future generations.”
What’s your proudest accomplishment in clean energy? “My proudest accomplishment in clean energy has been taking my education, experience, and passion for energy and wells and applying these to assist in the development of the first two horizontal geothermal wells ever drilled and completed,” she told CE4AEF.
What did you do before entering clean energy? “Prior to working in clean energy, I worked in the oil and gas industry as an Operations Engineer in North Dakota and in water systems as a Water and Wastewater Engineer in Texas,” she told CE4AEF.
