In Case You Missed It: House Champions Urged CE4A Members To Pressure Senate To Act

Advocacy is everything when it comes to making progress at the federal level. That was the main takeaway from our virtual rally with U.S. Representatives Kathy Castor, Nanette Barragán and Sean Casten last week.

Like clean energy advocates across the country, they want the U.S. Senate to pass the $550 billion from the Build Back Better Act for climate and clean energy. Why? They all agreed that Americans need the cost-savings that these programs would provide.

“Clean energy in BBB means lower costs for consumers,” Representative Castor added. Further, measures like tax credits offer companies the confidence to proceed with the clean energy transition. “New tax credits for renewable energy like solar and wind make sure businesses have the certainty to expand in the coming decades,” said Rep. Castor.

That’s what’s possible, they said, but it requires lots of advocacy from the powerful voices of the clean energy workforce.

Rep. Barragán said, “You’re on the frontlines of the work around our country bringing about the clean energy future. Keep up the pressure. Let’s raise public awareness and raise the call to action everywhere. We don’t want this opportunity to go away.”

CE4A makes it easy for you to take that advice.
