Clean Energy Spotlight: Hong Zhang Durandal
This week's spotlight is an entrepreneur and seasoned global sustainability leader that has worked in the clean energy sector for over six years. Hong Zhang Durandal, one of the Faces of Clean Energy, is senior manager at EDP Renewables, the world’s fourth-largest wind energy producer.
Hong focuses on energy storage business development and mergers and acquisitions. Starting in 2021, he worked his way up from Senior Associate.
Prior to working at EDP Renewables, Hong’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Energy Hunters in 2019. A minority-owned business that prides itself on doing “more than making a network of EV charging stations”, Energy Hunters builds stationary and portable EV infrastructure, providing solutions to the “complexities and challenges of our current [energy] grid.”
While founding Energy Hunters, Hong was also working as an international development associate at Invenergy LLC, leading and supporting “new generation development opportunities from renewable resources…in South America, Bahamas, Israel, and Greece.”
Hong also has a Masters of Science, Economics and Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
Congratulations, Hong, and thank you for your commitment to advancing global sustainability.
