STATEMENT: CE4A’s Andrew Reagan on EPA LDV and HDV Standards

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, in response to the release of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed clean car and truck standards, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan made the following statement:

“We applaud the Biden administration for, with today’s action, putting America on a path to zero transportation emissions and cleaner air. This announcement is a vital step in the direction of accelerating the clean energy transition, which will create thousands of good-paying jobs in traditional auto manufacturing and new areas across the country. Of course, this isn’t the end of the road and can’t be: The administration must continue pushing strong, decarbonizing policies — through the end of this rulemaking and beyond — to fully accelerate the nation’s EV ownership, manufacturing, and charging network in a way that promotes domestic supply chains and protects America’s workers. This is a very good first step.”
