Mosaic, founder and chief executive officer, Billy Parish: “The Inflation Reduction Act is an absolute game changer — it is the largest investment in clean energy and our environment in U.S. history. It will benefit millions of people in hundreds of communities across the country — while simultaneously eliminating a gigaton of carbon emissions. Thank you to everyone who helped to get this passed into law. It further strengthens the clean energy industry, boosts our economy and creates a better and cleaner future for our country and planet. At Mosaic, we've helped nearly 1 million people prosper from clean energy by providing easy access to affordable financing options for sustainable home improvements. Passing this bill pushes us another step closer to helping the next million people."
NovaSource Power Services, chief executive officer, Troy Lauterbach: “The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act is the most significant milestone to date in transitioning our energy generation sources away from a carbon-based into a sustainable, renewable, carbon free economy. NovaSource commends the national leadership for aligning policy with the clear signals being sent by the private sector leaders in leading the world in transitioning to a 24x7 carbon-free energy generation.”
Novel Energy Solutions, founder and chief executive officer, Cliff Kaehler: “We applaud our elected officials for passing the Inflation Reduction Act for the benefit of urban, rural, and future U.S. citizens. We all know we cannot continue to use energy the way we did in the past. We moved from coal to gas and diesel, and now we are accelerating the move to clean renewable energy. As a solar developer and farmer with roots in a rural, Midwest, small town, we see the benefits available to everyone, from rural landowners to urban consumers. This will bring good paying jobs, cleaner air, electricity savings, and less carbon for a better future. The time is now to make the transition to clean energy.”
OMCO Solar, director of business development, Eric Goodwin: "The Inflation Reduction Act will catapult the renewables sector forward, impacting every state in the nation. Here in Arizona, for instance, where our main solar manufacturing plant is based, the solar industry supports 8,300 local jobs among 300 businesses. Bold investments in clean energy such as the IRA can curb rising electricity prices and strengthen Arizona’s economy by attracting thousands of additional jobs and businesses. Specifically, within our segment, the tracker components we develop – the torque tube and structural fastener – are included in this legislation. Furthermore, SEIA has suggested that the tax credits in the IRA could spur upwards of 30 GW of new solar panel manufacturing capacity in the United States, which is good news for OMCO Solar, our valued partners, and our nation. With our long history and capacity as a domestic manufacturer, we will be well-positioned to continue serving our partners with tracker and racking design expertise and the shortest lead times in the industry.”
Proterra, chief executive officer, Gareth Joyce: “Accelerating a clean transportation future is an obligation we have to future generations and an opportunity for America to be at the forefront of the innovations that will drive the 21st century. Commercial vehicles are the workhorses of our economy, but disproportionately contribute to the pollutants in the air we breathe and that threaten the planet. By directing historic investment towards zero-emission, electric commercial vehicles and advanced battery manufacturing in the U.S., the Inflation Reduction Act will help realize the promise of a just and sustainable future for all.”
Qcells North America, head of market strategy and public affairs, Scott Moskowitz: “Passage of this legislation marks a turning point for clean energy manufacturing. This bill will result in billions of dollars in investment, it will make our supply chains more resilient, our energy more affordable, and dramatically lower carbon emissions. We look forward to expanding our factories and hiring thousands of U.S. manufacturing workers. The United States is now on track to turn the climate crisis into a once-in-a-generation opportunity.”
Scale Microgrid Solutions, chief operating officer, Tim Hade: “Passing this legislation is a tremendous accomplishment. It not only positions our country to lead a global response to the climate crisis, but will also create significant economic opportunities for millions of Americans. We’re so grateful to the thousands of businesses, activists, and political leaders who came together, set their differences aside, and made this happen. Today, we made the world a better place.”
Sealed, co-founder and chief executive officer, Lauren Salz: “The House’s passage of the Inflation Reduction Act is truly a cause for celebration. It has the potential to make huge climate progress and transform residential energy, by addressing head-on both of the biggest barriers to scaling home efficiency and electrification: consumer awareness and costs. With support for home weatherization, heat pumps, and other efficient electric upgrades, the IRA will accelerate the decarbonization of America’s 124 million residential buildings, which contribute 20% of national GHG emissions. Because the needed retrofits can be accomplished with off-the-shelf technology, we anticipate swift progress toward what could ultimately be a 50% reduction in residential carbon pollution. Time to get to work!”
Sense, chief executive officer, Mike Phillips: “The Inflation Reduction Act will provide millions of Americans with access to rebates and tax credits that make it easier for them to electrify their homes and install energy efficient technology that reduces their energy bills as well as their carbon footprint. Our team at Sense applauds the passage of this critical legislation and is ready to meet the historic moment by providing consumers with the real-time energy insights needed to manage energy use, save money and help accelerate the transition to an electrified, low-carbon economy.”
