RELEASE: New Project Spotlights America's Clean Energy Workers
Faces of Clean Energy to highlight the people powering the U.S. transition to clean energy.
(Washington, D.C.) – With clean energy tax incentives and investments stalled in Congress, clean energy workers across the country are speaking out.
Today, Clean Energy for America Education Fund (CE4AEF) and Clean Energy for America (CE4A) launch the Faces of Clean Energy project. It’s a unique and growing collection of testimonials from real people working in clean energy, who are leading America on addressing climate change and eliminating our dependence on foreign fossil fuels.
The first 15 workers featured in the project, and on its website, live in more than a dozen states, span multiple regions of the country, are employed at big companies and small businesses, and work in various professions within the industry.
Their stories will be the first of many. More testimonials will be added in the coming months.
“Clean energy has grown so much and so quickly, a lot of people aren’t familiar with the incredible depth and diversity of this workforce,” said Andrew Reagan, executive director of Clean Energy for America. The organization amplifies the voice of the over 3-million strong clean energy workforce and is an affiliate of CE4AEF. “These workers are neighbors. They’re veterans. They come from blue states, red states, and everywhere in between. They’re builders and communicators and coders and innovators. They’re essential to our economy and worthy of support.”
“More and more people know the why behind the transition to a clean energy economy — renewable power can help Americans save on utility bills and help communities cut pollution,” said Sarah Mason, deputy executive director of Clean Energy for America. “With the Faces of Clean Energy project, people can learn about the who, and that’s really important.”
