STATEMENT: Clean Energy for America Commends Senate Appropriators on Bipartisan Bill to Fund Energy and Environment Priorities

(Washington, D.C.) – Yesterday, the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously advanced a funding bill for the Department of Energy for fiscal year 2024, which provides investments for clean energy research, deployment, and jobs. In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:

"The Senate appropriations committee dutifully reported out a bill that delivers significant investments for clean energy. The positive and bipartisan approach from Senate appropriators stands in stark contrast to the positively partisan and horrendous move by House Republican appropriators to seek historic cuts to America’s clean energy, air, and water, which families rely on. Republican House appropriators should give up their defund ploy, follow the lead of their colleagues across the Capitol, and invest in clean energy savings and jobs because they’ll power America’s economy and security."
