STATEMENT: CE4A’s Andrew Reagan on DOE Energy and Employment Report
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 28, 2022
(Washington, D.C.) Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today released the 2022 U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER). The full report can be found here.
In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:
“Today’s employment report highlights the on-going boom of clean energy jobs, jobs which help communities cut costs and pollution. Meanwhile, the number of jobs in the fossil fuel industry continues to shrink, as communities turn away from inflationary, polluting, and volatile oil and gas.
"We’re happy to see that clean energy continues to be a source of high-quality jobs for many, including for veterans, and we know the industry will remain resolute in hiring more women and people of color.
"Workers and companies are doing their part. Now it's up to Congress to accelerate this momentum with big investments in clean energy jobs and manufacturing, and policymakers should move quickly. More and more people's livelihoods could depend on it."
