CE4A Action: Joe Biden is the Clean Energy President

WASHINGTON, DC Today, President Joe Biden announced he will stop seeking re-election to be the Democratic nominee for president. In response, CE4A Action Treasurer Alex McDonough issued the following statement:

“The Biden-Harris administration has won extraordinary and historic victories for America and its clean energy workers and consumers. The incredible climate and economic accomplishments can be measured in the surging jobs, factories and consumer savings he helped create or spur from his Affordable Clean Energy Plan: the Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS and Science Act, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

“Thanks to Joe Biden, America seized a once-in-a-generation opportunity to lead on deploying, innovating and manufacturing clean energy, bringing badly needed energy resources and cost savings to consumers and businesses at a time when energy demand is rapidly rising. So even though his term ends in January, his legacy is cemented in the form of American jobs, factories, and a strong foundation to address the climate crisis. He will forever be considered the ‘Clean Energy President.’

“Considering what’s at stake, I am so grateful for his political courage to protect our country’s prosperity and continue the legacy of the Biden-Harris administration. This is what it looks like to put America first.

“America needs another pro-clean energy president. We cannot afford or tolerate backsliding. Clean Energy for America Action is backing clean energy candidates up and down the ballot, and we are committed to protecting the 300,000 jobs created during President Biden’s term.”
