Clean Energy For America Statement on Biden Administration's Announcement of $5 Billion for National EV Charging Network

(Washington, D.C.)  – Today, the U.S. Departments of Transportation and Energy announced nearly $5 billion to build out a national electric vehicle charging network from funding passed in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. In response, CE4A’s Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:

“We applaud today’s announcement: both what it means for the future of the economy and what it represents about the strength of our workforce. Investments like this ensure more Americans in more parts of the country can enjoy the benefits of the clean energy transition more quickly. And, over 3 million American clean energy workers are ready, willing, and able to make that happen. More new jobs and more savings for families are what investments  like this one are about.

“This action is a vital step toward growing America’s energy independence, but much more remains to be done. Congress must swiftly pass the climate and clean energy provisions of the Build Back Better Act, to ensure the clean energy economy benefits all Americans.”
