In Case You Missed It: DOE Secretary Granholm and Clean Energy Leaders Champion Renewable Power
Courtesy of: Climate Power. On March 16, 2022, Clean Energy for America co-hosted a roundtable discussion featuring Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and 10 clean energy industry leaders from across the nation.
The time for a clean energy transition is now. That was the main takeaway from the roundtable discussion on March 16th. There, Secretary Granholm and 10 clean energy business leaders discussed the many benefits of accelerating America’s transition to clean energy. At the event were four CE4A partners: BlocPower, Fervo Energy, Navajo Power, and Q Cells North America.

The benefits, the secretary emphasized, included saving consumers money and protecting national security, which was top of mind as the fossil-fuel funded Russian invasion of Ukraine was on-going.

CE4A’s business leaders also touted how clean energy was primed to power the U.S. economy to new heights, with help from Congress.

“No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, we can all agree that a good job is a great way to lift people up and bring this country back.” - Donnel Baird, Founder and CEO, BlocPower
“Navajo Power is stepping in to replace those [coal factory] jobs and help the transition to clean energy to create a more permanent economy on tribal lands to attack the intractable, intergenerational poverty that tribes are mired in.” - Shaun Deschene, Senior Counsel, Navajo Power
“The demand for solar is not slowing down. It will not for a very long time, especially as the public demands climate action.” - Scott Moskowitz, Director of Strategy and Public Affairs, Q CELLS North America
Clearly, the opportunity is there, if Congress acts now to unleash America’s clean energy workforce.
