Clean Energy Spotlight: Forest Frizzell

This week’s #cleanenergyspotlight is an award-winning entrepreneur with 15 years of experience in tech. Meet Forest Frizzell, co-founder and CEO of Shifted Energy.

Headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, Shifted Energy, is a #cleantech  software maker for grid operators and renewable energy producers. Shifted Energy helps them deliver savings to utility customers, with bill credits and financial incentives.  “Our platform was built as a way to engage with hard-to-reach communities who typically don’t have access to rooftop solar or EV charging by targeting renters and multi-family buildings,” said Frizzell.

Having spent much of his career working in the tech field, and 5 years in government, Frizzell realized that his agency to make impactful decisions could positively influence the lives of others. Through this experience, he was called to embrace community engagement as a part of his personal and professional mission.

“I made it my personal mission to find ways to use technology to be of service to the broader community,” he told the Faces of Clean Energy program.

That is why he believes Congress must promote sustainability. “Fundamentally it’s the right thing to do. Clean energy is lower cost, it’s creating more jobs, and the general public is asking for it.”

Congratulations, Forest, and thank you for working to extend the benefits of clean energy and clean technology to the communities that need it most.
