Clean Energy Spotlight: Riley Neugebauer
This week's #cleanenergyspotlight is a solar installer based in Boulder, CO. Meet Riley Neugebauer, one of the #facesofcleanenergy. Since August 2022, she’s been at Namaste Solar, a solar developer. There, she assembles and installs solar photovoltaic (PV) modules to roofs and other structures as an electrical apprentice.
Riley initially learned about all-things-clean-energy during an undergraduate program at Allegheny College. There, she received a Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies and women's studies. The sustainability sector is rapidly creating good-paying jobs and professional opportunities for marginalized groups, especially women. That is why Riley is calling on Congress to continue investing in clean energy, helping to expand access and affordability for all.
As someone who has lived in the Four Corners Region, “Seeing coal plants be phased out and retired, while solar is being installed at record rates is uplifting, particularly when clean energy development (in the place of fossil fuels) is happening on or right next to tribal lands where some of the worst environmental injustices are playing out,” she tells our Faces of Clean Energy program.
Congratulations, Riley, and thank you for bringing your diverse perspective to the world of clean energy while advocating for more affordability and accessibility.
