Clean Energy Spotlight: Nate Blouin

Nate Blouin is latest #cleanenergyspotlight. Newly elected to Utah’s state senate, Nate’s affinity for the great outdoors drew him to a career in renewable energy: He’s western policy and markets consultant at Strategen, focusing on “building markets and relationships that advance energy storage and clean energy integration.” Previously, he served as the policy manager at Interwest Energy Alliance, a trade association representing businesses and nonprofits advocating for “wind, solar, and [energy] storage across Western states.”

Now heading to the Utah State Senate, Nate is eager to help “pass legislation that accelerates the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy… while ensuring workers in legacy industries have access to [good-paying] opportunities.”  Nate’s said that while America may “take energy for granted,” much of the country “could struggle to meet demand” unless rural, urban, red and blue communities alike can turn to renewable power.

Nate, thank you for being a part of a new generation of leaders, for seeking to “give Utah the opportunity to thrive and to be a model for states around the nation,” with more clean energy. Congratulations.
