Clean Energy Spotlight: Eric Davids

This week's #cleanenergyspotlight is a veteran and energy security champion who is working to connect customers with the clean energy technologies that they need to thrive. Meet Eric Davids, senior director at Uplight, in Boulder, Colorado.

Uplight is a software company that helps utilities access integrated data via its "Connect" program. This platform makes it easier for utilities to view energy data to simplify the customer experience.

Prior to working at Uplight, Davids served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Over six years, Davids climbed the ranks to become Regimental Intelligence Officer, overseeing intelligence activities for an infantry regiment of over 3,500 personnel. Early in his military career, Davids interned as a fellow for the nonprofit CNA Corporation, and he conducted research on energy security and the risks of climate change.

To him, many vets can work in sustainability. “You’ll find yourself surrounded by mission-driven people seeking to solve a complex and meaningful problem full of interrelated engineering, market, and geopolitical components,” he told the Faces of Clean Energy Program.

That is why he is urging Congress to continue investing in clean energy careers. Those jobs “de-risk falling behind overseas competitors and presents a meaningful opportunity for US global leadership in one of the preeminent challenges of our time,” he said.

So true and so well said.

Congratulations, Eric, and thank you for working to strengthen our energy security to fasten a clean energy future.
