STATEMENT: CE4A’s Andrew Reagan on President Biden’s Climate Speech

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, President Joe Biden made a speech announcing actions on climate change and clean energy, including investments in offshore wind.

In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:

“We commend the president for advancing clean energy action through his executive power, and we look forward to future steps from this administration. 

“The location of the president’s speech, a former coal plant that’s now making components for wind power, represents one example of the clean energy transformation that’s employing millions of Americans.

"With additional support, the federal government can accelerate that transition further and faster, and that’s why today's announcements must be matched by congressional action on clean energy. Otherwise, the president cannot fulfill his climate promises to families and workers. We continue to urge the Senate to get back to the negotiation table."
