Next week, the U.S. Senate is expected to hold a vote on S.4072, a bill to stop the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from using funds to implement the new tailpipe emissions rule for light-duty vehicles. In response, CE4A Executive Director Andrew Reagan released the following statement:

“Blocking EPA’s clean car standards would hurt consumer choice and risk American jobs. Senators should oppose these bad-faith attacks on vital, technology-neutral limits on tailpipe pollution.

“The EPA’s well-considered clean car standard provides regulatory certainty and boosts domestic jobs and clean energy manufacturing. Undoing it would weaken American competitiveness and hurt workers and consumers.

“We urge senators to oppose this attack and vote NO on S.4072.”
