Washington, D.C. — Clean Energy for America (CE4A) today announced the launch of a multi-platform accountability campaign targeting Republican lawmakers voting for their budget bill that kills American jobs, raises electricity costs, and cancels billions in investments in the very districts they represent. The campaign ensures that when constituents lose their jobs, see their energy bills spike, and watch billions in local investments disappear, they know exactly who is to blame.
The accountability effort includes a mobile billboard truck circulating throughout Washington, D.C., as Congress prepares to vote on the budget bill, and a new website—RepublicanRateHike.org
“Any House member who votes for this job-killing bill will have to answer to their constituents—who will be stuck with higher electricity bills, lost jobs, and billions in cancelled investment,” said Andrew Reagan, President of Clean Energy for America. “Our new accountability website and DC truck campaign make it crystal clear: if you vote for the Big Ugly Bill, you’re voting to raise energy prices on American families and kill thousands of jobs.”
The accountability campaign comes at a crucial time as the Senate is currently voting on amendments to the bill, which will then proceed to the Senate floor before returning to the House, making this part of a broader accountability campaign to ensure lawmakers face consequences for votes that harm their constituents.

The Big Ugly Bill would:
Raise your electricity bills by more than $160 per year next year and nearly $400 in the next ten years
Kill 840,000 clean energy jobs in the next five years
Cancel billions of dollars in clean energy investments, abandoning job-creating projects and divesting from our communities. $15.5 billion in investments have already been cancelled this year because of the business uncertainty created by Congressional Republicans
This is happening as grids are straining and energy bills are skyrocketing across the country.
